My Story: From Pre-Med to Law Professor Who Dances
I've always been a dancer, and I've always had an interest in advocating for others. Now, as a law professor, I get to bring both worlds together—helping law students succeed while teaching dance and making sure dancers know their rights and protect their art. But my journey here wasn't a straight path, and I didn't start out as a top scholar.
I attended Colgate University where I majored in Africana Studies and minored in History. I actually started as a pre-med student, but early morning science classes and my social life just didn't mix. After graduation came the big question: What now? Law school seemed like a good next step—it had no prerequisites and gave me a structured plan for the future.

The Law School Transformation
The problem was I didn't strategically apply to law school like I should have. My LSAT score was just okay because I took a prep course that met on Saturdays, and well, so were football games. You can guess which one won out.
But here's what made all the difference: the summer before law school started, I got ready. I learned how to brief cases, how to outline, and how to manage my time. I came in focused and excelled. I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, graduated at the top of my class, standing out in all the ways that mattered. That preparation changed everything, and now I help others do the same.

Rediscovering Dance (And Why I Almost Lost It)
After law school, I practiced family law for five years before transitioning to full-time teaching. But there was something missing. In undergrad, I was the dancer—I led two dance groups, ran weekly rehearsals, and coordinated big performances every semester. When I got to law school, I convinced myself that dance wasn't something lawyers did. So I let it go. Looking back, that was a mistake.
Now, I know better, and I dance. I see firsthand how movement and mindset go hand in hand—whether you're in a courtroom or on the dance floor.

What I Bring To The Table
I was born and raised in Connecticut where education and hard work were everything, but so were music, dance, and joy. I graduated at the top of my class from FAMU College of Law and became Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. I've been dancing my whole life—from competition kid to leading two dance teams in college to choreographing for big events.
When I went to law school, I convinced myself that "lawyers don't dance" and stepped away from it. That was a mistake. Now I know that movement enhances focus, relieves stress, and fuels creativity.
I started this brand because I've been that first-gen student who didn't know where to start. I've been that dancer who didn't know how to protect her work. I've been that professional who thought she had to choose between career and creativity.
